This past weekend was slightly exceptional in the fact that yesterday after church we actually had a double date with some friends, Kerri and Chris Bolt. I met Kerri at a Seminary Wives Krispy Kreme doughnut get together and I think we were both happy to find each other's similing faces. We hit it off and kept in touch and even went out to eat at Cracker Barrel after co-church hopping one week. This past week she invited Greg and I to a local corn maze just a bit east of Louisville in Indiana!
The farm was called Deere Farms and it was nestled in the adorably quiant town of Lanesville, IN. We drove about 40 minutes along a beautiful stretch of Fall foilage and through some rolling hills, green farmland a the cute local town to arrive at a huge corn field. Basically every year this farm hires a company to create a unique maze on their 14 acre corn field totalling up to 6.8 miles of paths!
(the lines were the pathes that we ran on, not the open green space which is the corn)

Entry point into the maze
The point of the maze it reach all 12 checkpoints where you punch your card and turn in the whole card at the end to enter the raffle drawing. It was quite an adventure and a daunting task, but Chris, Greg and I co-navigated our way through the maze and to each of the checkpoints while of course pausing to take tons of pictures throughout. It was hilarious to ask each other "are we in the pig's ear right now or is that the eye right there?" as the maze was an incredibly intricate picture of a farm! Even though it was a bit swampy and muddy at times, the day was gorgeous without a cloud in the sky and we enjoyed the challenge as well as just talking and hanging out with another couple.
Beautiful day!
After about 2 hours we succesfully exited alive and unscathed (Greg was freaking everyone out by talking about children of the corn) and with a bit more mud on our shoes than when we started. We celebrated a fun day with apple cider slushes and headed back to good ole Louisville so that Greg could get back to the grind after a fun excursion!

All said it was a fun and unique opportunity and great chance to get out and enjoy life and some new friends! Next time I'd definitely say to wear rainboots and race each other through the maze or blindfold someone and leave them in the middle to find their way out! Yup, we're learning the ropes here in our ole Kentucky home!

Nice shots -- should have worn your "rain/snow" shoes you bought at Ecothrift here! Glad you're making friends! :o)
