As a very belated update to the whole house hunt, after sending paperwork back and forth we finally came to an agreement on the house and have a closing date (the date when the house officially becomes "ours") THIS FRIDAY at 11:00 am!!
It is indeed incredibly exciting and I am looking forward to our walk through and closing in great anticipation (I get to come in late for work, yay!). It makes me so thankful for our realtor who has taken such good care of us and of course for our parents who have helped us so much financially, with advice and with their prayers and support. Indeed these are exciting times and God has blessed us so richly!
So in preparation for the move there have been quite a few things we needed to do like transferring funds, researching contractors, learning how to paint, getting homeowners insurance and the like. All the talk of mortages and water bills and insurance deductibles does make one feel so much older and it is amazing to me that it was only 5 years ago that I was living in the dorms where everything is taken care of for you! One of the things we also did recently was to get life insurance which is a strange concept but helpful. A clinic tech came by our apartment and took measurements, urine samples (gross!!) and drew blood (this was my first time giving blood and I was so glad I didn't pass out!). I'm thankful that we are both in very healthy condition but it was a reminder again that time is indeed passing and we are becoming the grown ups that we always claimed to be! Exciting and scary times!
PS: Will this mean no more nintendo (my newest obession is with Magical Quest 3 with Donald and Mickey)?!
Exciting, congratulations to you guys!
