Boy or Girl? or Why John Piper is an amazing preacher, but not a prophet in the infallible, New Testament sense
Leading up to Monday, February 13th, there was much fanfare around whether or not our baby was a boy or a girl. Cami put up a poll on the blog and used Facebook to direct our family and friends to the poll to vote. The overwhelming majority said, "Boy."
On top of the poll on our blog, one of Cami's friends from the seminary made her an adorable office poll which allowed visitors to Cami's office to take a sticker -- representing a "boy" or a "girl" -- sign their name on it and put it in the appropriate column. The winner? "Boy" by a count of thirteen to eight.
Among those who voted "boy" were none other than T4G speakers Al Mohler, Ligon Duncan and John Piper. Needless to say, none of them have the gift or prophecy. (I think CJ would have voted "girl." Just saying...)
So, on Monday, February 13th we headed to the doctor's office and after a few seconds in the sonogram room the sonogram technician announced, "Looks like a little girl!" and even though Cami was thoroughly convinced beforehand that she was having a little boy, she got a little choked up and let out a soft, "It's a girl!"
What followed after that appointment can only be described in one word -- pink.
Pink balloons
Pink ice cream
Pink frosting
Pink shoes
Little did I know that this would merely be the beginning of an onslaught of pink that probably won't abate till Karis is grown and out of this house. And you know what?
I wouldn't have it any other way. =)
love the banner and the color PINK! Happy 4th of July, Karis! Hope you get to wear some red, white and blue today! hugs, "grammie"
