So the blog has been sorely neglected because we had our first vacation. After less than a week we went back to Cali for my ex-roomie Patricia's wedding, yay!
I left early without Greg on Thursday evening and the flight was uneventful save a 30 minute delay in Phoenix. It was nice also gaining 3 hours because of the time change. After a nice comfy sleep in my old bed, my mom and dad and I were able to have a relaxing morning eating breakfast and just catching up. I gave them a photo tour as well just to calm their nerves about life in Louisville. Next I drove up to LA to get lunch with Lauren (man, Prius' are so nice! I loved the smooth ride and being able to go in the carpool...sweet!). We had a good time and tasty lunch in Culver City (check out Tender Greens if you are in the area, it was yummy) and hit up a thrift store and TJs too. I also gained some new additions to my wardrobe via Lauren's closet cleaning. It was so funny b/c I'd ask her why she didn't want it and the exchange went something like this:
Cami: "What's wrong with it?"
Lo: "to short"
Cami: "perfect!"
Another item held up for inspection.
Lo: "too big on the butt"
Cami: "Perfect!"
And another article of clothing
Lo: "too old lady frumpy"
Cami: "perfect!"
Haha, God works all things together for good!!!
Anyhoo, then I fought So.Cal Friday traffic and just made it to rehearsal dinner at Woodranch in Camarillo. It was so much fun to see some of my closest friends and just enjoy the evening together! I had a great time and there were even some funny toasts to the happy couple (just as I had gotten my nerve together to stand up and share something they ended the toasting session. oh darn!)
Saturday was a rush, but I do enjoy helping at weddings as I was one of the hairstylists and make up artists for us bridesmaids. It was fun trying to see just how many bobbypins one scalp could hold and just how much hairspray one could physically inhale before passing out. Hehe, if I can't do wedding cupcakes, maybe there's a future for me in updos and makeup!! Then it was the regular rush of pictures, freshening up, starving but being scared to spill anything on the dress, etc.
The wedding was absolutely gorgeous though and it had that quiant, yet romantic feel of alfresco at night. I loved the vibrant and fresh decor and the whole thing was just so much fun to be a part of! My absolute favorite though was being reunited with my best friends! I remember one part of the evening got really loud as we were all talking really loudly and making a scene trying to take a picture. It makes me smile because it reminds me of good times. There was also dancing which was fantastic!!! The bride and groom were getting down as well as their parents and almost the whole bridal party and our college friends started busting a move. Greg even was coerced into dancing 1/2 a slow song and a whole oldies song!!! WOW! Definitely the power of love and marraige at work with that one. Also, MJ made an appearance with Thriller and I got to use some of the moves I learned from this fab video: learnthriller. It was funny b/c a circle started around me, yikes! If you have a chance, learn it so we can bust it out together at the next wedding! (better watch out Heidi...I know your wedding will have dancing....). All in all it was a blast and the only downside was that I started to cry when I parted with my friends. It was so bittersweet, but thankfully we share so many common roots that I will see almost all of them when we make it back for the holidays. That night Greg and I crashed back in Carlsbad but thankfully we moved our flight from Sunday morning to Monday morning!!
Sunday we went to church at Lighthouse (yay!) and were able to spend some more time with my parents and even get Korean tofu with my parents and Chase (double yay!). It was nice and relaxing and a good decision to stay longer. I even got to teach my mom some piano when we got back from dinner! Hopefully she practices... Then Monday we had an uneventful plane ride back to what we now call "home".

Wow, Cami. You're practically "Super Wedding Woman" now. haha. All these weddings that you're helping out with. :P Glad that you and Greg are doing well though! :D
