Gettin' There!

Although this past summer I have been "unemployed" in an official sense, my main occupation has been planning this huge move, and believe me, it is no small task! The world of moving companies is vast and overwhelming, but thankfully we had an idea of what we needed. We wanted to have something that was easy and efficient yet still cost effective. Initially we thought we'd rent a Uhaul or Penske truck and big rig it across the continental US. That would indeed be an adventure! Thankfully we found something much better.... (drum roll)...a POD!
Yes, we are officially pod people. A Pod is a portable storage container with dimensions of about 8'x9'x16' that is delivered to your door. You pack it according you own pace and when you're done packing it you have it shipped to a destination of your choosing. Or, as in our case, you can have it shipped to your destination of choice (Louisville) and have it placed in storage for you. So last Thursday (August 6th) a POD showed up at our door steps and on Saturday an army of workers (actually, it was Oby, Tran-Shawn and Winson) helped us cram the POD with all our stuff. Thankfully, all of our items fit into the POD and we loaded it in record breaking two and half hours! On Sunday, we dropped by to put in some last minute items and by Monday afternoon, our POD (and all our stuff) was on its way to Louisville, KY! Now all that's left is for us to join it!
