Day 3- Cami POV
Well, it has been a fun and interesting past three days and the time has really been flying by believe it or not! I have started and torn apart my newest knitting project three times, but I am confident that if I work at it tomorrow I can finish! We shall see... I think one of the best parts about this trip is the randomness and surreality of it all. At first I was rathe
r disappointed that it wasn't a real road trip in the sense that we didn't really have any major sights to see and didn't plan our route around key photo opts. It was more of "how do we get to points A to B as quick as possible without getting killed in some janky town?" Nonetheless, although we didn't pull off the road to see Oz (a museum dedicated to our Kansas friend Doro and Toto) and we didn't see the world's largest Czech egg (that really was an option) God has blessed us with uncommonly good weather, fun conversation, alertness and some great random adventures. Yesterday we got to eat at a nice restaurant in Denver and on the fly found out about this Food Network highlight called D Bar which stands for Dessert Bar. Then we walked through Denver admiring the cute and cool surroundings that were akin to Bardstown Road in Louisville or Midtown in Sac. Today we ate yummy BBQ and then randomly exp
lored Kansas City and ended up in this place called the Power
& Light District which is the newly revitalized downtown with the ritziest market and theater I've ever seen, live street music and cool hip restaurants. It was fun taking in the sights and feeling like I got to know the town, even for a bit. I'm really looking forward to St. Louis tomorrow and getting to see the arch! Also the prospect of going "home" to our new apartment is highly appealing b/c believe it or not, hotels get kinda old after awhile and I'm looking forward to a bit of stability and settledness. Catch you next in our home for the next few years, Louisville, KY!!!
